Mr. Renzenbrink started his professional teaching career in 2012 at William B. Travis HS in Fort Bend ISD in the greater Houston area. For the past 4 years he has been Associate Director of Bands at McKinney High School.
Mr. Renzenbrink has been involved in drum corps since 2009. He has served as the mellophone technician for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps and currently serves as a mellophone technician for the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Renzenbrink spent his marching career as a two-year member of the Bluecoats mellophone line before aging out in 2010. During his time with the Bluecoats, the corps placed sixth place and third place at the DCI World Championship.
Mr. Renzenbrink graduated Magna Cum Laude in December 2011 from the University of Houston where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Education with an emphasis in instrumental education. While earning his degree, Mr. Renzenbrink was a member of the University of Houston Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Opera Orchestra. He studied under several distinguished conductors and teachers including Tom Bennett, David Bertman, John Benzer, Franz Krager, Roger Kaza, and Gavin Reed.
Mr. Renzenbrink’s professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, and Drum Corps International. While not teaching, Mr. Renzenbrink enjoys Mountain Biking, attending Texas Rangers games, golfing, relaxing at his property in Palestine, TX, playing Xbox, and binge watching Netflix with his wife, Rheanne, and cats, Monty and Miles.
